Which is why you only use fixative in the beginning. But then at the end you have the problem of the pastels being fragile and unfixed. Choosing pigmentation over fixedness is a tough call!

So you mix too much the first time around and end up wasting paint because you don’t use it all.

I have actually had this happen to me. D: I lost my end of year ceramics project, and had to do 3 months of work all over again in about a week and a half.
